Why did I watch this? It's 4 hours, it's incredibly racist and problematic, and the majority of the story is boring. I suppose it's way famous and maybe seeing at least one Griffith movie is required of me. One thing is true: You'll never get me to watch Intolerance, D.W. Never.
i watch a bunch of movies and then i tell the internets about them, sometimes even revealing opinions i have about things [ahem, feminism].
i aim to watch 365 movies this year, but i'll probably surpass my goal. this really isn't anything exciting.
you know, old hollywood, pre-code, artsy fartsy, 'sploitation, plus teen movies, spoofs, screwballs, the french melodramas, the swedish deep stuff, feminist reinterpretations of already feminist texts [clueless], often disappointing feminist/queer flicks [watermelon woman], and even barbra streisand and sci-fi.
intolerance is LONG. but parts of it are kinda cool. does that make me a racist?
